A short summary of the various guardianships in Florida and their scope of authority.  The majority of the time will be spent on a checklist of items for advisors to know what to do with a client who shows impairment, or is now under management of a guardianship. Two professional guardians will be available for questions and answera through their eyes and experience.

Lance M. McKinney, Certified Elder Law attorney, is with Osterhout & McKinney, P.A., and is Past President of the Southwest Chapter of the Florida State Guardians Association.

Lynda Leonard-Boyce earned her bachelor’s degree at Ohio Dominican University and was a marketing representative in Pennsylvania before moving to Florida where she owned and operated multiple restaurants on Sanibel & Captiva for 16 years.  She has been a professional guardian since 2000, helping clients and their families by guiding them through the Lee County probate system and all of the changes that come to one’s life during a guardianship.  Lynda was named Guardian of the Year in 2004 and became a National Certified Guardian in 2005.  She has been a member of the SWFL chapter of the Florida State Guardianship since 2000 and has been a member of the board since 2004.  She served as President for four years and Past President for another four years.

Sherri Graham was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. She has been a Professional Guardian and a National Certified Guardian since 2009.  Sherri is the President of the SW Florida Chapter of the Florida State Guardianship Association and the Secretary for the State Guardianship Association.  She volunteers for the March of Dimes Signature Chef Auction, LEAPP and the Lee County Task force on Hoarding.

Lance M. McKinney, Certified Elder Law attorney, is with Osterhout & McKinney, P.A., and is Past President of the Southwest Chapter of the Florida State Guardians Association.
