"Problem Property: How Auction Houses Handle Questionable Artwork and Illegal Objects"
While the title is self-explanatory, Kristin's talk is sure to spark some fascinating discussion.
Kristin Vaughn - of Leslie Hindman Auctioneers in Naples - began her career in the art world as a marketing director with an international fine art fair firm. Marketing museum-quality exhibitions in Palm Beach, Miami, and London to collectors, dealers, and press ultimately led to her current position in business development with the fine art auction house, Leslie Hindman Auctioneers. In January 2010, she and a small staff opened the Chicago based company’s first satellite office and auction house in Naples, Florida. Her primary function with the firm is to introduce auction and appraisal services to trust and estate bankers and attorneys, private clients, and museum registrars and curators throughout Florida and the Southern Region.
Kristin Vaughn is originally from Dallas, Texas and completed her graduate studies at Florida Gulf Coast University, receiving a Masters of Liberal Arts in English Literature. She serves on the board of directors for the United Arts Council, is an affiliate member of the Collier County Bar Association, and is a founding member of the United Arts Council (UAC) Contemporaries and Naples Children & Education Foundation (NCEF) Friends of the Foundation, which are two next generation groups for arts philanthropy and children’s education.
