Dawn Moore (of Lee Memorial Choices) and Chris Austin (with Discovery Village) will discuss how memory loss can impact day-to-day functioning, and resources for how to help someone who demonstrates signs of memory loss.  More specifically, they will address how we as estate planners can:

  • recognize when our clients are slipping
  • know when we must say something
  • speak to family members when the client doesn’t see/agree that s/he needs help.

Dawn Moore has been a RN since 1982 and has lived in Lee County most of her life. She has a wealth of nursing experience in oncology, surgery and home health, and has been active in various local organizations concerned with elder issues and needs. Dawn is one of the founding Care Managers of the Senior Care Choices program.  Dawn serves as President of the S.W. Florida Local Geriatric Care Manager Chapter.

Chris Austin is a social worker by trade, and has worked in the senior care industry for most of her professional career.  She is a nationally certified professional geriatric care manager, having owned and operated a care management company in Minnesota.  She currently works as a Senior Lifestyle Counselor at Discovery Village in Fort Myers.
